Cutest Little Knitting Goodie

I saw these little knitting dollies and think they are absolutely the cutest things in the world. Why didn't they have goodies like this when I was young? I don't care if I'm not a kid anymore I want this one. I will come up with a pattern that uses cord just to have an excuse to knit with it.

Isn't this just the most wonderful bit of pinkness??

They come in all colors and I think it might take more than one. Well you wouldn't want it to get lonely would you?

Jeannie, they had these when my mother was a girl in the '30s and I remember them from my childhood in the '60s....I'm sure they were around when you were young just a few years back:)
There are lots of uses for I-Cord...which is basically what these ladies make.
I've always wondered about a pattern that would use the icord as the fiber for a shawl or something.
You could use the icord to make a hotpad, shoelaces, bag handles, trim on a shirt or skirt, etc.

Here's a link to a picture of a scarf that my LYS-owner designed! http://nysta.se/monster/halsdukar/halsduk%20icord.htm

Now that's how I want an I-cord scarf to look!

Hi Jean,

In Dutch we call them punnikpoppetjes. As a child we knitted many miles with these things, all with left over yarns of a tapestry factory. I still have good memories on these.
