I made the My Constant Companion and love it, but it is too big for a purse, I made one of my own pattern, still too big, now I have one that is SUPER. Working on pattern type up right now.
Hi Jeanie, I've made myself 2 felted purses now, and there was a huge difference between them in felting times. One felted in 15 minutes (Paton's Kroy wool) and the other took over 2 hours (5 wash cycles) from a rougher wool I bought at the NYS Sheep & Wool Festival, no brand name.
I have also found that Lion wool felts very quickly too, and with beautiful results, quite as nice as the Paton's Kroy wool.
I'm sure you will probably come up with a very good purse pattern. So maybe your disappointments were for a reason?? LOL
OMG - all those clogs and now bags too! wow. That is a lot of felting. I am making a bag to felt right now. I am using the lionbrand free pattern that they sell with their felting wool. I think it is going to be smaller than I thought. maybe we should trade patterns. LOL
